James C. Emery, Accompanist

James C. Emery joined CCGD as accompanist in 2005. He serves as Director of Music and Fine Arts Ministries at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas. In his tenure at Tyler Street United Methodist Church in Dallas, Jimmy conducted orchestrated performances of Schubert’s Mass in G, Handel’s Messiah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Dubois’The Seven Last Words of Christ and established the respected Summer Classics Series. Jimmy collaborates with The Texas Voices, under the direction of Alan Dyer, and with flutist Sabrina Trujillo in the eclectic duo Pas de Deux. He has also recorded with acclaimed tenor Scot Cameron and Seattle-based clarinetist Erling Iverson.

Mr. Emery holds degrees in Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy and Music Education from the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University, where he studied piano with Alfred Mouledous and choral conducting with Dr. Barbara Brinson. He is currently completing a Master of Music in Music Education with a Concentration in Choral Conducting at Southern Methodist University with Dr. Alfred Calabrese.
